Organizational Assessment

This is a deep dive into your organization's mission, methods, and goals. It is a 40-60 hour process including interviews of critical staff and stakeholders and results in a clear report with actionable next steps for your staff and board.

  1. First we examine fundraising and marketing plans and materials, current budgets and financials, giving patterns and revenue streams, current and former strategic plans, staffing structures—including job descriptions, salaries and benefits—and anything else you think is important for us to see.  We also visit your offices or program site and interview staff. 

  2. Then we conduct interviews with no less than six key stakeholders: executive staff, board members, major donors, etc.  We work with you to identify the most relevant people for us to speak with and then talk to them about their challenges, frustrations and why they are passionate about your mission.

  3. Finally, we create a written assessment and present our findings, in person, to the Executive Staff and Board of Directors.  The assessment always contains our diagnoses, and perhaps most importantly, a prioritized list of ‘next steps’ that will put your organization on the path to growth.  Depending on your needs, your assessment may also include an examination of comparable organizations, a broad calendar for implementation, articulated growth strategies, or various staffing scenarios.

Development Assessment

This is an analysis of all aspects of your development shop including staffing, resources, tools (think database, research software, etc) and outreach communications to determine how you can better leverage your current resources to meet your fundraising goals.  This also requires us to understand the larger organization so it is a 40-60 hour assessment similar in design to the Org Assessment but with a focus on the Development shop. Depending on our finding's it may also include a larger perspective on how development works within the larger organization.

Professional Coaching

We recommend an initial assessment to understand organizational nuances, and then hourly coaching for individuals or teams on any aspect of your organziations's work that needs attention.  Some examples include major gifts/planned giving strategy, annual fund management, donor communications, donor retention, event strategy and planning, campaign design/planning/launch.  A 10 hour assement and 5 hours of hourly support is billed in advance then hourly billing follows as necessary.
